Classic Brioche French Toast
Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 8 thick slices of day-old Brioche or Challah bread
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk or heavy cream
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Butter for the pan
- Maple syrup and powdered sugar for serving
Instructions
- In a wide, shallow dish (like a pie plate), whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until completely blended.
- Melt a tablespoon of butter in a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Dip a slice of brioche bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 10 seconds on each side. Lift up and let excess drip off.
- Place soaked bread onto hot skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until beautifully golden brown and slightly crisp on the edges. Repeat for all slices, serving hot with syrup.
