One-Pan Tomato & Basil Pasta
Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 1 bunch fresh basil
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
- 4 1/2 cups water
- 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- In a large, wide skillet or straight-sided pan, combine the spaghetti, basil, sliced onion, garlic, and halved cherry tomatoes.
- Pour the water and olive oil over the ingredients, and season everything with the salt and black pepper.
- Bring the liquids to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, use a pair of tongs to frequently turn and stir the pasta to keep it from sticking together.
- Cook for about 9 minutes, stirring continuously, until the pasta is perfectly al dente and the liquid has reduced into a rich, starchy sauce.
- Remove the pan from the heat, stir in any remaining fresh basil leaves, season to taste, and serve hot topped with plenty of grated Parmesan cheese.
